Usually a GHP costs a little more than the typical air conditioner and furnace, or air source heat pump; But, even at a higher cost, surveys show that most GHP owners are very satisfied with their systems. Okay, so you've decided to buy a geothermal heat pump (GHP). How do you pay for it? Some owners prefer to pay cash while many others may wish to finance the purchase.
There are many ways to a finance a GHP. If you are buying a new house or business it is easy to include the cost of the GHP in the mortgage. In the case of a retrofit, the GHP can sometimes be financed by your local utility or lending institution. Regardless of the way the GHP purchase is financed, most GHP homeowners will save enough money on their utility bills each month to more than cover the extra loan payment (often called a positive cash flow).
Georgia Geothermal offers a loop leasing program. Georgia Geothermal will install the loop at no up front cost to the customer and lease use of the loop back to the user.
